On Trace of The Tide, he says: “Trace of The Tide is not merely a place, but an invisible boundary between what we say and what we are unable to say, where language is washed in its salt and returns less certain, yet more truthful. There, home is not made of walls, but of a mother’s voice breaking against the waves, while neighbours are faces passing like ships, waving but never fully coming to rest in the heart. As for time, it walks barefoot across the sand, leaving its trace before retreating, as though ashamed of a permanence that does not resemble the sea.
A Palestinian poet and journalist from Gaza City. He writes poetry, theatre, musical plays, and songs for children, and has also contributed to the production of several films and television programmes. He continues his cultural and media work through writing, production, and active participation in the Palestinian cultural scene. He has published four poetry collections, including Butterflies on the Neighbour’s Almond Tree, issued by Majdalawi Publishing and Distribution in 2020. His work moves between the written poem, song, and theatre. He worked with several local and Arab television channels before becoming a correspondent for Russia Today in the Gaza Strip in 2007.
