A Palestinian storyteller and playwright, born in Rafah in 1968. He writes short fiction, dramatic texts, and open-form narratives. His work brings together storytelling, contemplation, confession, and prose poetry, drawing on personal memory and the details of everyday life in Gaza through language in which lyricism intersects with irony and bitterness. His first collection, On the Loose: Narrating the Self, was published in 2010, followed by Stolen Alive in 2014. The latter brings together texts in which short fiction, poetic writing, reflections, and theatrical scenes overlap.
